Youth Climate Stewardship Collective

About us

CRFAIR’s Youth Food Network is teaming up with the Compost Education Center to offer a new program for youth aged 14-20. Starting in October, sessions will run every other Saturday from 3:15-5:15 with half of our sessions will take place at the CEC and the other half will take place at a variety of locations around the city.

There is no cost to participate and for each session you attend you will earn a $10 credit that can be put towards a gift card you will receive at the end of the program!

Come learn about climate justice and ecological stewardship with us! Partake in tours and workshops around the city, get your hands dirty practicing ecological restoration in an urban context and meet like minded individuals!

Sessions will include things like:

  • Tours of local community gardens and farms

  • Hands on experience working with plants and growing food

  • Help create native plant habitat

  • Learn about local food security initiatives

  • Discussion on climate justice and resiliency

This project took place between October-March 2022. While you cannot register for the workshops anymore, you are welcome to visit our Instagram (@youth.food.network) to see what workshops were offered! Thank you to Alistair and Elora for leading this Stewardship.
